Originally the Nashville Elite Giants, the club moved first to Washington (1937) before settling in Baltimore's Bugle Field in 1938.
During the 1940s the Elite Giants featured many of the Negro Leagues' top stars, including Roy Campanella, Joe Black and "Wild Bill" Wright and was always a powerful force in Negro National League competition.
